🧪 Gator beta feature 🧪
This feature is new to Gator and may change. Have questions or feedback? Email us at help@gator.works.
By default, messages you create with Gator will be delivered at 9:00 AM in the appropriate time zone (your own time zone for messages to channels and your recipient's time zone in a direct message).
For most users, 9:00 AM is the right time for most messages to get delivered. But if you find yourself consistently changing the delivery time of your messages to be earlier or later, you can use this beta feature to change the time Gator uses for new messages.
To set Gator to use a time other than 9:00 AM for your new messages, run this command in your Slack:
"/gator beta-set-delivery-time 08:30"
The last part of the command tells Gator which new time it should use. The time you provide should be in the format of the two-digit hour, a colon, and then two two-digit minute value for the time you want to use. You should use 24-hour time notation, so if you wanted your Gator messages to be delivered at two o'clock in the afternoon by default, you would use the command "/gator beta-set-delivery-time 14:00".
NOTE: This command will only change the default delivery time for your user, not all users in your Slack team.
After you run the command, you'll see a confirmation message like this:
You can confirm this setting is working correctly by sending a test Gator message to yourself: open your Slack DM with your own username, send yourself a new Gator message, and then you'll see Gator choose your custom delivery time for your new message.
If you change your mind and would like to return to using 9:00 AM as the default delivery time for your messages, just run this command:
"/gator beta-set-delivery-time 09:00"
