Note: This feature is only available to workspaces who have upgraded to the Gator Enterprise plan. Free trial accounts can upgrade to the Enterprise plan by running "/gator upgrade" in Slack. If you already upgraded to a paid Gator plan but want to switch to the Enterprise plan, email us at enterprise@gator.works.
Gator has a built-in tool which allows Slack administrators to export all data Gator has about their Slack workspace.
To run an administrator export of your Slack workspace's Gator data, open Slack and run the "/gator admin-export" command. This command is only available to your Slack workspace's administrators. See this Slack Help Center article to learn more about how to add administrators to your Slack workspace.
When you run the "/gator admin-export" command, Gator will prepare two CSV files for you to download:
The first file is an export of all users in your Slack workspace who have authorized Gator to send messages on their behalf, including those who have since revoked their Gator authorization. The second file is an export of all messages your workspace's users have sent with Gator.
For messages which have been delivered, the export will show non-personally identifiable metadata about the message, such as when it was created, what Slack channel it was sent to, and when it was delivered. For messages which have not yet been delivered, the export will also include those messages' contents.
When you run the "/gator admin-export" command, Gator will upload the CSV to your direct message Slack conversation with the @Gator bot. If you wish to delete the files after you are done referencing them, follow these instructions from the Slack Help Center.
